  • Mystery Flavor mutes are made with the leftovers from other spools. These mutes are one of a kind, random offerings and won’t go for sale often.

Let’s address the elephant in the room…

everyone says their practice mute is the best. There are many aspects to balance and here’s how the CookieMute approached mute design:

  • Size/Weight: It probably won’t store in the bell in your case, but it only weighs ~110 grams and sticks out less than a typical straight mute.

  • Loudness: It’s not silent, but it is quiet enough to play in an apartment/dorm/hotel room/airport etc. without disturbing others.

  • Intonation: Many iterations were tested to ensure that the intonation stays true to the open horn’s patterns.

  • Blow: The #1 goal through the design of the Cookiemute was to create a practice mute that felt good to play. The resistance is very similar to an open horn, and the mute provides a lot of feedback so you don’t overblow and wreck your chops.

    After all, a practice mute is a tool to help your playing, not set you back.
