Introducing the CookieMute:
An affordable solution to quiet practice, the CookieMute is designed with playability in mind.
Unlike other practice mutes, the CookieMute preserves the feeling of playing the open horn while greatly reducing the volume. Octaves are not nearly as compressed, the trumpet doesn’t feel stopped up, and notes slot into place, allowing you to mind the details in your late-night or hotel room practice session.
The CookieMute is proudly made in the USA using high quality materials such as Fel-Pro cork (a trusted name in the automotive industry) which grips the bell much better than other materials. Proceeds from each mute sold will go towards the Deb Koch Memorial Scholarship, which aims to share the gift of music with underprivileged students.

Let’s address the elephant in the room…
everyone says their practice mute is the best. There are many aspects to balance and here’s how the CookieMute approached mute design:
Size/Weight: It won’t store in the bell in your case, but it only weighs ~110 grams and sticks out less than a typical straight mute.
Loudness: It’s not silent, but it is quiet enough to play in an apartment/hotel room/airport etc. without disturbing others.
Intonation: Many iterations were tested to ensure that the intonation mimics the open horn’s patterns.
Blow: The #1 goal through the design of the Cookiemute was to create a practice mute that felt good to play. The resistance is very similar to an open horn, and the mute provides a lot of feedback so you don’t overblow and wreck your chops. After all, a practice mute is a tool to help your playing, not set you back.
